Happy slapping is a new craze that has swooped the nation. To all who are unaware what happy slapping is: happy slapping is when you use your camera on your mobile phone to record an assault on an innocent civilian.
On ITV's This Morning, they interviewed a recent campaigner to try and stop the happy slapping assaults occurring. The videos that were shown on This Morning were of the sickest seen. In one case, two teenagers, one recording, approached a passer by and walked up to him and aggressively slapped him on the face. What I found weird about this, is that the innocent victim, never reacted. He just looked at the attacker and questioned why he done such a thing. This then caused a second attack, but still the victim never reacted in an aggressive way.
Well, the correct action to take would be to call the police but before you could do this there would be a chance of another assault.
In campaigner’s research, the best thing to do when approached is to raise your voice attracting other people’s attention. This will inevitably scare the attackers.
